Come learn how to play the recorder, read music, and have fun doing it in a weekly music class taught by an experienced teacher and professional player. It is a known fact that students who take a musical instrument do better on their academic scores. Besides weekly lessons, students will participate in concerts. The band and recorder classes are being offered to 3rd - 8th graders.. Enrollment is available for the 2008-2009 season. Classes can fill up fast so we recommend signing up as soon as possible. Classes are held at each school’s campus and start in September and go through May.

Lisa Marie Baratta background info

Lisa Marie has taught and played music professionally for over 19 years. She is a graduate of UCLA and SJSU with a B.A. and an M.A. respectively in music performance on flute, clarinet and saxophone. She has taught at Bethel Church for ten years. She also currently teaches in Cupertino, Santa Clara, Morgan Hill and Gilroy both privately and for five private schools. She has played all over the Bay Area and has her own CD.

If you wish to contact people for referrals, you may call the Music Department at Bethel Church, St. Joseph in Cupertino, St. Justin in Santa Clara and St. Clare in Santa Clara. All teachers who work at Bethel, private schools and public schools are fingerprinted before being hired.

Recorder classes 3rd grade only
Beginning band 4th-6th only
Intermediate band 5th-8th grade
When Starts the week of Sept. 8 and ends the week of May 25.
  1. St. Clare recorder class, every Thursday at 12:45
  2. St. Justin recorder class, every Tuesday at 3:10-3:40
  3. St. Catherine beginning band, every Wed. at 1:00-1:40
    St. Catherine intermediate band, every Wed. 1:45-2:25
  4. PWCA beginning band, every Wed. 3:30-4:10
Where At each designated school. Room TBA.
Cost The payment is $300.00 (about $10 per class) plus a one time registration/material fee of $25.00.
You can make one payment of $325, two payments of $175.00/$150.00 or three payments of $125.00/$100.00/$100.00
